Shepham

Places · Updated 2026-05-06

Shepham is a place on the eastern boundary of the land promised to Israel, named only in the boundary description of Numbers 34.

A Marker on the East Border

When the borders of the land are marked out for the people of Israel, Shepham stands as one of the points along the eastern line: "And you⁺ will mark out your⁺ east border from Hazar-enan to Shepham; and the border will go down from Shepham [to] Harbelah, on the east side of Ain; and the border will go down, and will reach to the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;" (Nu 34:10-11). The boundary runs from Hazar-enan to Shepham, then descends from Shepham toward Harbelah and Ain and on to the sea of Chinnereth. The location is fixed by these neighbors and not described further.
