Shepho

Shepho is one of the sons of Shobal in the Horite genealogy of Edom. The same name reappears in Chronicles under the variant form Shephi.

Son of Shobal

The Horite line of Seir is traced through Shobal in the Edomite genealogies of Genesis 36: "And these are the sons of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath and Ebal, Shepho and Onam" (Ge 36:23). Shepho stands fourth in the listing of Shobal's sons.

The Variant Spelling Shephi

The Chronicler's parallel record of the same family carries the same five names with two of them spelled slightly differently: "The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon: Aiah, and Anah" (1Ch 1:40). Shephi here corresponds to Shepho in Genesis, in the same position within the same family.
