Shillem
Shillem is the fourth son of Naphtali, listed among the seventy who go down with Jacob into Egypt and remembered later as the head of one of the clans of Naphtali. The same man appears under the variant name Shallum in the Chronicler's parallel genealogy.
Son of Naphtali
In the Joseph migration roster, Shillem is the last-named of Naphtali's four sons: "And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem" (Gen 46:24). The wilderness census of Numbers preserves him as the eponym of a Naphtalite family — "of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites" (Num 26:49) — placing the Shillemites alongside the Jahzeelites, Gunites, and Jezerites as the four houses of Naphtali.
The Shallum Variant
The Chronicler's genealogy of Naphtali keeps the same four-name shape but spells the fourth son differently: "The sons of Naphtali: Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah" (1Ch 7:13). The position is identical (fourth, after Jahziel/Jahzeel, Guni, and Jezer), so the verse names the same man under the alternate form Shallum.
