Shimon

Shimon is a man of Judah, named only in a Judahite genealogy as the father of four sons.

A Judahite Family

Within the genealogy of Judah, the line is traced briefly: "And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth" (1Ch 4:20). The text gives the four sons and nothing further — no narrative, no tribal office, no further descendants beyond the immediate generation.
