Shinab
Shinab is the king of Admah, one of the five city-kings of the plain who joined the war recorded in Genesis 14.
King of Admah in the War of the Kings
He stands in the alliance opposite the four eastern kings led by Chedorlaomer: "they made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar)" (Ge 14:2). His name appears only in this list. Admah is one of the cities later associated with Sodom and Gomorrah in the geography of the plain, and the alliance set out in this verse is the alliance broken in the campaign that follows.
