Shinar

Shinar is the lowland of southern Mesopotamia where Nimrod's first kingdom — Babel, Erech, and Accad — was founded, where the tower-builders settled after the eastward migration, and which the prophets and the chronicler use as a name for the Babylonian heartland to which the temple's vessels and the exiles were carried.
