Sosipater

Sosipater is named once in scripture, among those sending greetings at the close of Paul's letter to the Romans.

A Kinsman of Paul

In the chain of greetings at the end of Romans, Paul groups Sosipater with two other Jewish associates: "Timothy my coworker greets you⁺; and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen" (Ro 16:21). The label "kinsmen" places him among Paul's fellow Jews; he is otherwise undescribed.
