Taralah
Taralah is named once in the UPDV — as one of the cities in the second cluster of Benjamin's tribal allotment.
A City in Benjamin's Allotment
The name appears inside the second of the two town-lists that close out Benjamin's territorial inheritance in Joshua 18. The list runs through a tight sequence of hill-country sites — "Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth, and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah, and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah, and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, that is Jerusalem, Gibeath, [and] Kiriath-jearim" (Jos 18:25-28) — and totals them at the end: "fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families" (Jos 18:28). Taralah stands ninth in that count. The verse that names it gives only the bare entry — "and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah" (Jos 18:27) — with no description of size, function, or later history.
