Tarea

Tarea is a son of Micah in the genealogy of Saul's house, descending through Jonathan and Mephibosheth.

A Son of Micah

The Chronicler lists the four sons in order: "And the sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tarea, and Ahaz" (1 Ch 8:35). Tarea sits third in the line, between his brothers Melech and Ahaz.

Called Tahrea

The parallel register in the next chapter spells the name differently: "And the sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, [and Ahaz]" (1 Ch 9:41). The bracketed reading shows a textually inserted name; the same four sons appear, with Tarea/Tahrea as alternate spellings of the same person.
