Tebaliah

Tebaliah is named once in scripture, in the gatekeeper rosters of the Merarite Levites organized for service at the house of Yahweh. He appears as the third son of Hosah.

A Son of Hosah

The genealogical notice places him within a household of Merarite gatekeepers led by his father Hosah, whose firstborn was passed over so that Shimri could be made chief: "Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brothers of Hosah were thirteen" (1Ch 26:11). Beyond the name and his rank in the household, the text records nothing further about him.
