Temani is a designation for the people descended from Teman, son of Eliphaz and grandson of Esau, and through them for the inhabitants of the Edomite district of Teman that lay in the southern reaches of Esau's territory. The name appears in Edomite genealogies and in the prophetic oracles that announce judgment on Teman alongside the rest of Edom.
