Thessalonians
Thessalonians names the people and the church belonging to Thessalonica, the Macedonian city Paul visits on his second journey, where his preaching draws both converts and persecution. Two of his surviving letters address them by their city's demonym, and his later notices speak of Thessalonian companions, of one who departs for the city, and of the financial gifts the congregation sent to him at Philippi.
