Timnath-heres is the variant name under which Judges records the burial place of Joshua in the hill-country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash — the same site that Joshua's own book calls Timnath-serah, the city he received as a personal inheritance and where he is laid to rest. The Judges and Joshua notices fix the location by identical landmarks and so confirm that the two names belong to one place.
