Tob-Adonijah

Tob-adonijah is a Levite named once, in the list of teachers Jehoshaphat sent through the cities of Judah to instruct the people in the law of Yahweh.

The reform sent princes, Levites, and priests together as a teaching circuit. Among the Levites named are "Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests" (2 Ch 17:8). Tob-adonijah closes the Levitical roster on this commission. Nothing further is recorded of him beyond his inclusion in this teaching company.
