Tohu

Tohu is the form under which the Kohathite Levite in Samuel's ancestral line is named at the opening of 1 Samuel, the same figure who appears as Nahath in one Chronicler's recital and as Toah in another. The three spellings name a single ancestor of Elkanah and so of Samuel, with no narrative beyond his place in the genealogy.
