Uzal

Uzal is one of the sons of Joktan, named in the Table of Nations and repeated in the parallel genealogy in Chronicles. He appears only in those two list-verses, with no separate narrative.

A Son of Joktan

In the genealogy of Shem's descendants through Eber and Joktan, Uzal stands among his brothers in the run of names: "and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah," (Gen 10:27). The list groups him with the other Arabian-peninsula peoples that descend from Joktan.

The line is repeated in Chronicles' compressed genealogy with the same wording: "and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah," (1Ch 1:21).
