Virginity

Virginity in scripture names the legally and ritually protected sexual integrity of an unmarried young woman, treated by Mosaic law as a publicly demonstrable status tied to dowry, betrothal, and household honor, and extended figuratively to describe the purity of Israel and the body of Christ.
