Vophsi
Vophsi appears once in scripture, identified only as the father of Nahbi, the man chosen from the tribe of Naphtali to scout the land of Canaan.
Father of the Naphtali Spy
In the roster of the twelve men sent by Moses to spy out the land, the entry for Naphtali reads simply: "Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi" (Num 13:14). The name is preserved only as a patronymic — Vophsi himself does not act in the narrative. His sole textual presence is as the father whose son carried Naphtali's voice into the council that returned the discouraging report about the land.
