Chapter 3

Chapter 4

4:15 — There is internal and external evidence that the events in Chapter 4 may not be in the correct chronological sequence. However, to avoid renumbering the text, they have been left as is.

Chapter 5

Chapter 23
23:5 — Verses 6 through 12 are not included in the text. This passage, unique to Luke with no parallel in Mark or Matthew, describes Jesus being sent to Herod Antipas during the trial before Pilate. Computational stylometry classifies it as secondary material consistent with the editorial layer that added Luke 1–2 and the ending. See the article on The Gospel of Luke for details.
23:15 — The clause "no, nor yet Herod: for he sent him back to us;" has been removed. It presupposes the Herod episode in verses 6–12 and has no parallel in the Synoptic trial accounts (cf. Mark 15:14, Matthew 27:23).
23:16 — CT is certain (Level A) that verse 17 is not part of the original text: Now he must needs release to them at the feast one prisoner.
23:34 — CT is certain (Level A) that the first part of verse 34 is not part of the original text: And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they don't know what they do.
