Festivals
Festivals are Israel's appointed seasons of public worship and rejoicing — the annual gatherings instituted under Moses (Passover, Pentecost, Tabernacles, with Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and later Purim) at which all males were required to appear before the Lord. The same word also covers private and royal celebrations: weddings, birthdays, coronations, and feasts marking national deliverance.
